Their songs are getting so long, music videos have to be "short films". Swim to the Moon is longer than some TV shows. :'D

Are you kidding me? Lil Wayne is a popular Wu-Tang Clan. But at least Wu-Tang can call their stuff hip-hop.He might be from a distant future where everyone is a moron, ahem, Idiocracy. The only reason he is even as big as he is is because he puts out so much material, he's bound to put out a hit eventually. The Carter III was his only good album in my opinion, and its only good because its produced well, and sounds good. His lyrics are a joke, for the most part. I probably wouldn't be such a hater if he called his music something other than hip-hop. But then again, Kanye's 'Pop Art' was a joke and only embarrassing.

What ever happened to Gang Starr, J Dilla, Ghost Face Killah, Method Man, Eazy E, or Ice Cube? Oh yeah, they died, sold out, or just got too old for 'music'. Now we get to listen to Lil Wayne talk about how he's the greatest in the world, and I honestly mean we have to. Because Wayne is in fucking every other song on the radio. I was sitting in my room with my headphones on listening to the new Weezer album, and sure enough, there he was.

Thats just my opinion though. :P

I find Lil Wayne's lyrics to be surreal and bizarre. Any good Lil Wayne song makes you want to scratch your head after listening to it. Maybe it's not really hip-hop, but it's definitely more interesting than the rest of the crap filling the airwaves.

I think there are plenty of talented musicians out there who have just as 'interesting' lyrics, off the top of my head I will say The Mars Volta. But their lyrics are a little more thought out, or so they think. Where as Lil Waynes sound childish, and thought up on the spot most of the time, and comparing the actual music he produces compared TMVs is like comparing a rain puddle to the Grand Canyon. Hip Hip beats these days are so simple and easy to make in any basic DJ program, like Garage Band, or Fruity Loops Studio. I do it all the time. I just don't think he is that talented really. Its just my opinion though.

I truly think that hip hop is dead. Occasionally I'll hear something that make me think otherwise though.
